Caster Wheel Bearing
Removal
1. Park the machine on a level surface and disengage the PTO. Stop the engine, wait for all moving parts to stop,
and remove key. Engage the parking brake.
2. Raise and support the unit so that the front wheels are off the ground, block rear wheels.
3. Remove the bolt and nut securing the caster wheel to the caster fork.
4. Lower the caster wheel away from the caster fork.
5. Remove the dust caps, felt washers, and wheel spanner.
6. Remove the bearings (bearings may have a slight press t).
7. Install new bearings (bearings may have a slight press t).
NOTE: The bearings are sealed and do not require grease/lubrication. They may also have a slight press
t.
8. Install the spanner into the caster wheel, then install felt washers and dust caps over the caster bearings.
9. Place the caster wheel inside of the caster fork, aligning the spanner with the holes in the caster fork.
10. Install the bolt and nut and torque to 32 ± 5 ft-lbs. (44 ± 7 Nm).
11. Lower the unit and verify proper function.
