Why does my Toro TX 1300 engine not start?

  There are several reasons why the engine might not be starting. It could be due to: * Dirt, water, stale fuel, or incorrect fuel in the fuel system, in which case you should drain and flush the fuel system and add fresh fuel. * A clogged fuel filter, which requires replacing the fuel filter. * Improper fuel grade for cold weather; drain the fuel system, replace the fuel filter, and add fresh fuel of the proper grade for the ambient temperature. Warming the entire traction unit may also be necessary. * A discharged battery; charge or replace the battery.

  If your Toro Industrial Equipment engine is losing power, consider the following possibilities: * The fuel tank may be empty; fill it with fresh fuel. * There might be air in the fuel; bleed the fuel system and check for air leaks at fuel hose connections and fittings between the fuel tank and engine. * The engine might be overheating; refer to 'The engine overheats.' * The engine load may be excessive; reduce the load and use a lower ground speed. * The crankcase-oil level may be incorrect; fill or drain to the Full mark. * The air-cleaner filters may be dirty; service the air filters.

  If the Toro Industrial Equipment machine does not drive: * Ensure the parking brake is disengaged. * Add hydraulic fluid to the reservoir if the hydraulic-fluid level is low. * Close the bypass valves if they are open. * Check fan connections or replace damaged parts if the cooling fans are damaged or disconnected. For hydraulic system damage, a loose or broken traction pump drive coupler, pump and/or wheel motor damage, control valve damage, or relief valve damage, contact your Authorized Service Dealer.

  If your Toro Industrial Equipment engine is overheating, check the following: * Ensure the crankcase-oil level is correct by filling or draining to the Full mark. * Inspect the alternator belt for damage or elongation; replace the belt or adjust the belt tension. * Check and add coolant if needed. * If the concentration of antifreeze is too high, add water only or change to coolant with the specified mixing ratio. * Inspect and clean the radiator screen to ensure there is no restricted airflow to the radiator. * If the inside of the radiator is corroded, clean or replace the radiator and parts. * Replace any damaged radiator parts, including the radiator cap. * Check the thermostat and replace it if necessary. * Check the temperature with a thermometer and replace the ga...
