AcceleratorPedal
Theacceleratorpedal(Figure3)givestheoperator
theabilitytovarytheengineandgroundspeedofthe
vehicle,whenthetransmissionisingear.Pressing
thepedalincreasesengineRPMandgroundspeed.
ReleasingthepedalwilldecreaseengineRPMand
groundspeedofthemachine.

ClutchPedal
Theclutchpedal(Figure3)mustbefullypressedto
disengageclutchwhenstartingtheengineorshifting
transmissiongears.Releasethepedalsmoothlywhenthe
transmissionisingeartopreventunnecessarywearon
thetransmissionandotherrelatedparts.
Important:Donotridetheclutchpedalduring
operation.Theclutchpedalmustbefullyoutorthe
clutchwillslipcausingheatandwear.Neverhold
thevehiclestoppedonahillusingtheclutchpedal.
Damagetotheclutchmayoccur.
BrakePedal
Thebrakepedal(Figure3)isusedtoapplyservice
brakestostoporslowvehicle.
Wornormaladjustedbrakesmayresultin
personalinjury.Ifthebrakepedaltravelsto
within1-1/2inches(3.8cm)ofthevehicleoor
board,thebrakesmustbeadjustedorrepaired.
GearShiftLever
Fullypresstheclutchpedalandmovetheshiftlever
(Figure5)intothedesiredgearselection.Adiagramof
theshiftpatternisinFigure4.

Important:Donotshiftthetransaxletothereverse
orforwardgearunlessthevehicleisstandingstill.
Damagetothetransaxlemayoccur.
Downshiftingfromtoohighaspeedcan
causetherearwheelstoskidresultinginloss
ofvehiclecontrolaswellasclutchand/or
transmissiondamage.Shiftsmoothlytoavoid
grindinggears.
DifferentialLock
Thedifferentiallockallowsrearaxletobelockedfor
increasedtraction.Thedifferentiallock(Figure5)may
beengagedwhenthevehicleisinmotion.Movethe
leverforwardandtotherighttoengagethelock.
Note:Vehiclemotionplusaslightturnisrequiredto
engageordisengagedifferentiallock.
Turningwiththedifferentiallockoncanresult
inlossofvehiclecontrol.Donotoperatewith
differentiallockonwhenmakingsharpturnsor
athighspeeds.Refertousingthedifferential
lock.
