•Stoptheengineandwitformovingpartstostop,
thencheckforoilleaks,looseparts,andanyother
noticeablemalfunctions.
Ifanyoftheaboveitemsarenotcorrect,notifyyour
mechanicorcheckwithyoursupervisorbeforetaking
thevehicleoutfortheday.Yoursupervisormaywant
youtocheckotheritemsonadailybasis,soaskwhat
yourresponsibilitiesare.
StartingtheEngine
1.Sitontheoperator’sseatandengagetheparking
brake.
2.DisengagethePTO(ifsoequipped)andmove
thehandthrottlelevertotheOffposition(ifso
equipped).
3.MovetheshiftlevertotheNeutralpositionand
presstheclutchpedal.
4.Ensurethatthehydraulicliftleverisinthecenter
position.
5.Dooneofthefollowing,dependingonthesituation:
•Iftheengineiscold—pressandholdthe
acceleratorpedalabouthalfwaydownandpull
thechokeknobouttotheOnposition.
•Iftheengineishot—pressandholdthe
acceleratorpedalabouthalfwaydown.
•Iftheengineisooded—fullypressthe
acceleratorpedalandholdittotheooruntil
theenginestarts.Neverpumptheaccelerator
pedal.
6.Insertkeyintoignitionswitchandrotateitclockwise
tostarttheengine.Releasekeywhenenginestarts.
Important:Topreventoverheatingofthe
startermotor,donotengagestarterlongerthan
15seconds.After15secondsofcontinuous
cranking,wait60secondsbeforeengaging
startermotoragain.
7.Whenstartingacoldengine,graduallyreturnthe
chokeknobtotheOffpositionastheenginewarms
up.
DrivingtheVehicle
1.Releasetheparkingbrake.
2.Fullypresstheclutchpedal.
3.Movethegearshiftleverto1stgear.
4.Releasetheclutchpedalsmoothlywhilepressing
theacceleratorpedal.
5.Whenthevehiclegainsenoughspeed,removeyour
footfromtheacceleratorpedal,fullypressthe
clutchpedal,movethegearshiftlevertothenext
gearandreleasetheclutchpedalwhilepressingthe
acceleratorpedal.Repeattheprocedureuntilthe
desiredspeedisattained.
Important:Alwaysstopthevehiclebefore
shiftingtoreverseaforwardgearortoaforward
gearfromreverse.
Note:Avoidlongperiodsofengineidling.
Usethechartbelowtodeterminethegroundspeed
ofthevehicleat3600RPM.
