Tension
Checkthepumpbeltforwear,cracking,orimproper
tension.Checkthetensionbypressingbeltatmidspan
betweenthecrankshaftandpumppulleyswith22lb
(10kg)offorce.Anewbeltshoulddeect0.48to0.58
inch(12to15mm)Ausedbeltshoulddeect0.55to
0.65inch(14to16.5mm).Ifthedeectionisincorrect,
refertoBeltMaintenanceforthetensioningprocedure.
Ifcorrect,continueoperation.
Important:Improperbelttensionmayresultin
increasedsteeringeffort.
Pre–startingChecks
Safeoperationbeginsbeforetakingthevehicleoutfor
aday’swork.Youshouldchecktheseitemseachtime:
Checkthetirepressure.
