Thesparkplugsusuallylastalongtime;however,the
plugsshouldberemovedandcheckedwheneverthe
enginemalfunctionsorevery800hours.Replacethe
sparkplugstoensureproperengineperformanceand
reduceexhaustemissionlevel.
ThecorrectsparkplugtouseisaChampionRC12YC
orequivalent.
Therecommendedairgapis0.040inch(1mm).
1.Cleantheareaaroundthesparkplugssoforeign
mattercannotfallintothecylinderwhenyouremove
thesparkplug.
2.Pullwiresoffofthesparkplugsandremovethe
plugsfromthecylinderhead.
3.Checktheconditionofthesideelectrode,center
electrode,andcenterelectrodeinsulatortoensure
thatthereisnodamage.
Important:Acracked,fouled,dirty,or
otherwisemalfunctioningsparkplugmustbe
replaced.Donotsandblast,scrape,orclean
electrodesbyusingawirebrushbecausegrit
mayeventuallyreleasefromtheplugand
fallintothecylinder.Theresultisusuallya
damagedengine.

supportontheextendedliftcylindertoholdupthe
bed.
2.Placeacleancontainerunderthefuellter
(Figure38).

4.Removetheclampssecuringthefuelltertothefuel
lines.
5.Installanewfuelltertofuellineswiththeclamps
previouslyremoved.Theltermustbemounted

6.TightentheR-clampsecuringtheltertotheframe.
7.Wipeupandspilledfuel.
