Brake Maintenance
Checking the Brake-Fluid
Level
Service Interval : Before each use or daily —Check
the brake-uid level. Check the
brake-uid level before you rst start
the engine.
Every 1,000 hours/Every 2 years (whichever
comes rst) —Change the brake uid.
Brake-uid type: DOT 3
1. Park the machine on a level surface.
2. Engage the parking brake.
3. Shut of f the engine and remove the key .
4. Raise the hood to access to the master brake
cylinder and reservoir ( Figure 54 ).

5. Ensure that the uid level is up to the Full line on
the reservoir ( Figure 55 ).

6. If the uid level is low , clean the area around
the cap, remove the reservoir cap, and ll the
reservoir to the proper level with the specied
brake uid ( Figure 55 ).
Note: Do not overll the reservoir with brake
uid.
Adjusting the Parking
Brake
Service Interval : After the rst 10 hours
Every 200 hours
1. Remove the rubber grip from the parking-brake
lever ( Figure 56 ).

2. Loosen the set screw securing the knob to the
parking-brake lever ( Figure 57 ).
