Servicing the Fuel
Filter/W ater Separator
Draining the Fuel Filter/W ater
Separator
Service Interval : Before each use or daily —Drain
water or other contaminants from
the water separator .
1. Place a clean container under the fuel lter
( Figure 38 ).
2. Loosen the drain plug on the bottom of the lter
canister .

3. T ighten the drain plug on the bottom of the lter
canister .
Changing the Fuel Filter
Service Interval : Every 400 hours —Replace the fuel
lter .
1. Drain the water from the water separator; refer
to Draining the Fuel Filter/W ater Separator
( page 44 ) .
2. Clean the area where the lter mounts ( Figure
38 ).
3. Remove the lter and clean the mounting
surface.
4. Lubricate the gasket on the lter with clean oil.
5. Install the lter by hand until the gasket contacts
mounting surface, then rotate it an additional 1/2
turn.
6. T ighten the drain plug on the bottom of the lter
canister .
Inspecting Fuel Lines and
Connections
Service Interval : Every 400 hours/Y early (whichever
comes rst)
Inspect the fuel lines, ttings, and clamps for signs of
leaking, deterioration, damage, or loose connections.
Note: Repair any damaged or leaking fuel system
component before using the machine.
