Hot swapping precautions
Although you can insert a PC card at any time, remember not to
remove a card while it is in use. Otherwise, you could lose valu
able information.
For example:
♦ Don't remove a hard disk card while the system is accessing
the card.
♦ Don't remove a network card while you are connected to a
network.
♦ Don't remove a SCSI card if the SCSI device connected to it is
operating.
DEFINITION: SCSI is an acronym for Small Computer Sys
tems Interface. A single SCSI PC Card enables you to connect
several SCSI devices, such as a scanner or digital camera to
your computer.
♦> Before removing a PC card, shut it down by clicking the PC
Card (PCMCIA) icon on the taskbar.
Using your computer at the office
By connecting an external monitor, full-size keyboard, and a
mouse, you can work with your notebook as if it were a standard
office computer.
