5. Remove the cap screws securing the magneto cover
to the crankcase. Note the location of the two inter-
nal cap screws and the two longer cap screws.

6. Remove the magneto cover and account for two
alignment pins and the gasket.

NOTE: Steps 1-6 in the preceding sub-section must
precede this procedure.
7. Remove the nut securing the rotor/flywheel on the
crankshaft and install the crankshaft protector.

8. Using the Magneto Rotor Remover Set, break the
rotor/flywheel loose from the crankshaft; then
remove the puller and crankshaft protector and
remove the rotor/flywheel.

9. Remove the flywheel key from the crankshaft; then
remove the starter clutch gear.

10. Remove starter idler gears and their respective
shafts; then remove the starter motor. Account for an
O-ring on the starter drive housing.

11. Remove the shift shaft noting a washer on each end;
then remove the cap screw securing the gear shift
cam plate and remove the plate from the shaft.
