R - A 20
Alert Code Response
Flame lost or ignition failed
Comfort Control = No Error Code Displayed
User Interface = RETRY
Furnace Fault LED = 2 Flash
Problem Description
• Flame sensor does not sense flame
- After 3 retries within the same call for heat an ERR22
will be displayed on the comfort control and RETRY
LO will be displayed on user interface
Possible Causes/Solutions
• Flame sensor not sensing flame
- Less than one microamp
• Inlet gas pressure too low
• Outlet gas pressure too low
• Flame sensor not positioned properly in flame
• Burner crossovers not aligned properly or restricted
Line polarity fault
Comfort Control = No Error Code Displayed
User Interface = POLARITY ERR
Furnace Fault LED = 6 Flash
Problem Description
• Line voltage polarity reversed
- Due to software limitations, reversed polarity faults
(POLARITY ERR) and grounding faults (GND FAULT)
will occur simultaneously
Possible Causes/Solutions
• Line hot (120v to ground) and line neutral (less than
8v to ground) are reversed
- Also see GND FAULT for additional causes
A/C line fault
Comfort Control = No Error Code Displayed
User Interface = AC VOLTS LOW
Furnace Fault LED = No Fault Reported
Problem Description
• Line voltage to furnace is too low (less than 70vAC)
Possible Causes/Solutions
• Improper voltage from main power supply
• Faulty breaker or switch
A/C line fault
Comfort Control = No Error Code Displayed
User Interface = AC VOLTS HI
Furnace Fault LED = No Fault Reported
Problem Description
• Line voltage to furnace is too high (136vAC)
- Due to software limitations, ignitor faults
(IGNITOR ERR) and high voltage faults (AC Volts Hi)
will occur simultaneously
Possible Causes/Solutions
• Improper voltage from main power supply
- Also see IGNITOR ERR for additional causes
Flame lost or ignition failed
Comfort Control = No Error Code Displayed
User Interface = RECYCLE
Furnace Fault LED = 2 Flash
Problem Description
• Burners ignite and flame sensor circuit is proven then
burners drop out
- After 10 recycles within the same call for heat an
ERR22 will be displayed on the comfort control and
RECYCLE LO will be displayed on user interface
Possible Causes/Solutions
• Gas valve solenoid failing
• Inlet gas pressure dropping out
- Gas pressure regulator failing
- Debris in gas valve screen or blockage in
supply line
• Air impingement on burners or flame
