Why is True Commercial Food Equipment producing poor ice quality, cloudy and soft?
    • A
      Anthony SanchezAug 13, 2025
If your True Commercial Food Equipment ice machine produces cloudy and soft ice, it could be due to several reasons. The ice machine might be dirty, so cleaning and sanitizing it is recommended. The water supply could be of poor quality, and in that case, you should contact a company that can test the water and recommend appropriate water treatment. It may also be necessary to install water filtration or contact your water softener manufacturer for service if you have water softener problems.

What to do if True Commercial Food Equipment ice machine does not come on, but the display is on?
    • J
      John MatthewsAug 16, 2025
If the True Commercial Food Equipment ice machine isn't turning on but the display is lit, it might be due to several reasons: the ice machine may be scheduled to be off, or it might be turned off manually, or the ice machine is off on alert. To resolve this, you can cancel the schedule, press the "Make Ice" icon, or reset the ice machine by pressing the "Make Ice" icon until it beeps, then press it again.

Why is the value always 100% on my True ICE Commercial Food Equipment?
    • T
      Thomas CollinsAug 20, 2025
If your True Commercial Food Equipment ice machine is showing a value of 100%, it could be due to several reasons: the Empty Bin Distance (EBD) and Full Bin Distance (FBD) may be set incorrectly, there might be a contaminant on the lens, the sensor could be installed incorrectly, or the Time of Flight (TOF) may not be enabled. To fix this, read the Ice Level Sensor Setup Section to set up EBD and FBD, change EBD by 1 cm increments up to +/- 5 cm until the value changes, and change FBD by 1 cm increments up to +/- 3 cm until the value changes. Also, perform cleaning of the lens, confirm the sensor is correctly placed in the plastic case cutout, and ensure TOF = 1.

Why is True Commercial Food Equipment low on production, but ice looks normal?
    • M
      meyerjenniferAug 25, 2025
Several factors can cause low ice production in your True Commercial Food Equipment, even when the ice appears normal. A dirty condenser or high ambient air temperature around the ice machine could be the culprits. To address this, clean the condenser and reduce the air temperature around the ice machine.

How to fix True Commercial Food Equipment when the ice machine does not come on, display is dark?
    • N
      Nicholas HutchinsonAug 28, 2025
If the True Commercial Food Equipment ice machine is not turning on and the display is dark, it is likely due to a lack of power. Ensure the breaker is on, replace any blown fuses, turn the disconnect on, and check the rocker switch.

Why True ICE produces shallow or incomplete cubes?
    • M
      Matthew SaundersSep 1, 2025
If your True Commercial Food Equipment ice machine is producing shallow or incomplete cubes, or the ice fill pattern on the evaporator is incomplete, it could be due to several reasons: the ice thickness might be set too thin, there might not be enough water in the sump, hot water could be feeding the ice machine, or the ice machine might not be level. To resolve this, adjust the ice bridge thickness to 1/8" (3.18 mm), confirm the water pressure is 20 psig (138 kPa) minimum, change the water filter, clean the water inlet valve screen, connect a cold water supply line (call a plumber if connected to a hot water supply), and ensure the ice machine is level.

What causes the value to be always 0% on True ICE Commercial Food Equipment?
    • J
      Jennifer BakerSep 4, 2025
If the True Commercial Food Equipment ice machine is showing a value of 0%, it could be because the EBD and FBD are set incorrectly or the sensor is installed incorrectly. To resolve this, read the Ice Level Sensor Setup Section to set up the EBD and FBD, and adjust the EBD and FBD by small increments until the value changes. Also, confirm the sensor is correctly placed in the plastic case cutout.

Why does True Commercial Food Equipment have low production and malformed ice?
    • M
      Michael SimsSep 8, 2025
If your True Commercial Food Equipment exhibits low ice production, and the ice is malformed or melts upon falling from the evaporator, the issue may stem from a dirty evaporator or an unlevel ice machine. To fix this, clean and sanitize the ice machine, and ensure it is properly leveled.
