Transport on public
roads
Check that the machine complies with all national and local
requirements regarding transport on public roads
When driving on public roads, the machine must comply with the Road
Traffic Act's current requirements. This ensures your safety and that
of other road users. Failure to meet the requirements can result in
accidents.
Compliance with the Road Traffic Act's current requirements includes,
for example:
Mounting of lights, warning and safety equipment.
Compliance with permitted transport width, weight, axle pressure,
tyre carrying capacity and total weight.
Comply with the maximum permitted transport speed.
Ensure the machine is secured.
The unladen weight of the tractor must be greater than the weight of
the machine. The driver and owner of the vehicle are liable for any
breaches of this rule.
Pay due attention to the tractor's braking ability
Do not exceed the braking distance with either front-mounted or rear-
mounted machines. At least 50% of the vehicle's total weight must rest
on the braked wheel to ensure the tractor's braking ability. Exceeding
the braking ability can result in uncontrolled driving and accidents.
Keep away from overhead power lines
When the machine exceeds a height of 4 metres, there is a high risk
that it may come to close to, or into direct contact with, overhead
power lines. Keep a sufficient distance from overhead power lines!
Failure to keep a sufficient distance from overhead power lines can
result in serious injuries or death.
Keep away from thunder and lightning
Avoid driving with the machine or working on the machine in a thunder
and/or lightning storm. There is a high risk of being struck by lightning.
Lightning can cause serious injuries or death.
