PTO shaft length
The length of the PTO shaft is factory-set, and is suitable for virtually
all types of tractor. The PTO will only need to be corrected in a few
exceptional cases, to achieve the correct length for certain tractors.
Check the length of the PTO shaft on every tractor before using for the
first time.
Checking the PTO shaft
length
Couple the machine to the tractor with the PTO shaft.
Stop the tractor, remove the ignition key and secure the tractor to
prevent it from rolling.
Refer to the manufacturer's user manual delivered with the PTO shaft.
User manual for the
PTO shaft
A user manual is supplied by the manufacturer with the PTO shaft.
The user manual contains information on the version of the PTO shaft
in question, and on maintenance, and details the correct PTO shaft
length for the tractor.
The description and information in the user manual must be observed.
Stopping the tractor and preventing it from rolling
Before uncoupling:
Stop the tractor.
Remove the ignition key.
Secure the tractor to prevent it from rolling.
Failure to secure the tractor to prevent it from rolling could
endanger lives.
Correct length
If the PTO shaft is too long, it must not be used. It will damage the
tractor and the machine.
