Fuel filter, replacement

Carefully clean the outside of the fuel filter unit.
Slacken off the bleed screw (A1) located above the
filter, two or three turns. Slacken off the drain ar-
rangement (A2) at the bottom of the holder and
drain the fuel into a suitable container.

Use a strap wrench or similar to remove the filter
(B).

Ensure that the threaded adapter (B1) is steady in
the filter head and that the inside of the head is
clean.

Lightly lubricate the new holder top gasket with
fresh fuel. Install the new filter holder onto the filter
head, hand tighten only.

Bleed the air from the fuel filter, see operation 19A-
10.
NOTE! It is extremely important that only original
Volvo Penta filter holders are used. Using the wrong
type of holder can damage the fuel injection pump.
