To submit a Connections Insight request:
1. Select Troubleshoot > Submit Connections Insight request.
2. In the Connections Insight Request dialog box, type your name,
telephone number, e-mail address, and a description of the problem.
3. Click Submit, and allow approximately 5 minutes to save the service
profile.
Result: A .zip file containing your Connections Insight profile is
forwarded to Waters customer support for review.
Tip: Saving a service profile or plot file from the Instrument Console can
require as much as 150 MB of file space.
Safety and handling
Bear in mind the following safety considerations when performing
maintenance procedures on the mass spectrometer:
Warning: To avoid personal contamination with biohazards, toxic
compounds, or their residues, wear clean, chemical-resistant,
powder-free gloves when handling the components.
Warning: To prevent injury, always observe Good Laboratory Practice
when handling solvents, changing tubing, or operating the instrument.
Know the physical and chemical properties of the solvents used (see the
Material Safety Data Sheets for the solvents in use).
Warning: To avoid electric shock, do not remove the instrument’s panels.
The panels cover components that are serviceable only by Waters
technicians.
Warning: To avoid electric shock, ensure that the instrument is in
Standby mode before beginning any maintenance operation.
Warning: To avoid burn injuries, ensure that the probe and mass
spectrometer source are not hot before working on them.
Caution: When performing maintenance inside the source enclosure of
the mass spectrometer, ensure that the following criteria are met:
