15 Maintenance
Explosion hazard. Failure to comply may cause severe or even fatal
injuries.
All work, e.g. transportation, storage, installation, connection,
commissioning, servicing and maintenance must be performed in a
non-explosive atmosphere.
Scheduled maintenance
l If aggressive liquids are spilled onto the pumphead, the head should be removed and cleaned with a
mild detergent. It is the usersresponsibility to ensure chemical compatibility of the detergent with the
pumped fluid. First, isolate the pump from the mains power supply and remove the track by lifting
the levers at either side of the pumphead. Remove the tubing by stretching the element over the
pegs (or remove the clamps for continuous tubing). To detach the pumphead from the drive,
remove the two screws located in the backplate. The cleaning procedure above should be used to
limit the build-up of dust (which can become electrostatically charged and/or heated by friction).
l Avoid exposing the bearing seals to solvents for more than one minute.
l Routine inspection of the moving parts of the pumphead rotor should be carried out to check for
excessive wear. Roller bearings are sealed and do not require lubricating.
l All pumpheads should be inspected weekly for any damage, and to ensure no debris is present
inside the pumphead.
l Because of the importance of dissipating any electrostatic charge the earthing lead should be
regularly checked for signsof corrosion.
WARNING! Pumphead must only be operated with Track levers in
closed position.
505L track adjustment
The track is set for use with 2.4mm wall tubing with bore sizes from 1.6mm to 9.6mm. Do not attempt to
change the gap between the track and the top of the pumphead.
Track Assembly replacement
l Unfasten earth-bonding.
l Lift up the levers.
