Other parameters that must lie within their respective limits are residual carrier
power and, of course, the frequency error and the RF power. The residual carrier
power is the I and Q imbalance of the modulator. In the figure above, it would
mean that the circle is not around the coordinate origin but slightly shifted. It could
also result in some residual carrier power outside the burst (when the MS is
supposed to remain "silent").
Since TETRA uses several timeslots, care must be taken to transmit exactly in
the correct timeslot; otherwise the call of the mobile transmitting in the neighbour-
ing timeslot is disturbed. The Timing Alignment measurement is provided there-
fore.
MCC codes
The Mobile Country Code (MCC) is usually defined by the ITU (recommendation
E.212). ETSI, however, decided to have an own list of country codes for TETRA.
This list is maintained by the TETRA MOU and can be viewed on the Internet
(www.tetramou.com).
