3.23. SNMP Agent
SNMP: The Relio can be configured to communicate with an external server using the SNMP protocol.
This allows the user to save and modify the Relio configuration, collect readings and statistics, and centralize
the distribution of alarms. WorldCast Systems has developed an SNMP server based system called Broadcast
Manager. Should the user desire to use a different software solution, they will need the management file, or
MIB, from the Relio it can be downloaded from the Downloads page (see section 4.15). This is where you set
up the Relio to communicate with a Network Manager.
SNMP Traps: Sets the SNMP messages (commonly called ‘traps’) that the user chooses to send. The traps
can be sent to 4 addressees (Main Manager and optional mirrors).
o SNMP notification type (see 4.9.2)/ Trap community/ SysDescription: trap parameters
o Life sign Trap/ Minute between life signs: sends life sign trap every “X” minutes.
o Test Trap: enables the user to carry out a test according to the trap setting.
* CAUTION:
The Relio can send traps to multiple addresses for notifications. However, only the Main Manager has the
authority to acknowledge notifications and manage configuration. In the case of INFORM type messages, the
automatic replies from the secondary managers are ignored by the Relio.
