Cleaning the Second-Side Scanning Lens Assembly
The second-side scanning lens assembly allows you to make 2-sided scans and copies with a single pass of the
original document.
Note: It is recommended that you clean all parts of the second-side scanning lens assembly regularly.
To clean the second-side scanning lens assembly:
1. Open Cover E to access the second-side scanning lens assembly and separate the document cover form the
lens assembly.
2. Using a soft, lint-free cloth moistened with water, wipe the mirrored glass, metal strip, both sides of the white-
plastic strip, and the rollers. If dirt is difficult to remove, moisten the cloth with a small amount of neutral
detergent, then wipe the parts dry with a dry, soft cloth.
WWaarrnniinngg:: To prevent damage to the film around the glass, do not press heavily on the mirrored glass.
