the riskof injury due to accidental
operation of the softtop: improper use
of the roof can be dangerous. Before
and during operation, always checkthat
no-one is at riskof being injured by the
moving soft top roofor byobjects getting
caught and draggedby it.
IMPORTANT

Never open the topin presence of
snow or ice to prevent damage.
12)
Do not place objectson the rear
window shelf to prevent damage while the
top is closing.
13)
Loads may not be secured on the roof.
BONNET
OPENING
Proceed as follows:
pull the lever (1) fig.46 in the
direction indicatedby the arrow;
move the lever (2)fig. 47 to the right
as shown in the figure;
lift the bonnet and at the same time
release the support rod (3) fig. 48 from
its catch (4), then insert the rod end
into the recess (5)of the bonnet (large
hole) and push intothe safe position
(small hole), as shown.

CLOSING
Proceed as follows:
hold the bonnet upwith one hand
and with the otherremove rod (3)
fig. 48 from recess(5) and fit it back
into its catch (4);
lower the bonnet to approximately
20 centimetres above the engine
compartment andlet it come down.
Make sure that the bonnet is
completely closedand not just secured
in safety position. Ifit is not perfectly
closed, do not tryto press the bonnet
down but open it and repeat the
procedure.

The bonnet may drop suddenly if the
supporting rod is not positioned correctly.
Only perform theseoperations when the
car is stationary.

Be careful working inside engine
compartment whenthe engine is hot to
avoid burning yourself. Do not place your
hands near the engine fan as it may be
activated even when the key is removed.
Wait until the enginehas cooled.
29)
Be very careful not to allow scarves,
neckties and other loose articles of
clothing from touching, even accidentally,
any moving parts. This may cause the
clothing to be pulled into the part, resulting
in serious riskto the wearer.
