4 Instrument Operation
This chapter provides the procedures to operate NovoCyte Quanteon flow
cytometer, including instrument startup, verify and modify instrument
configuration, instrument QC test, and instrument shutdown.
Instrument Start-up
Pre-Inspection
1 Check the power cords of the instrument and workstation and ensure that
they are securely connected to a power outlet.
2 Check that the connection between the NovoCyte Fluidics Station II and the
instrument are correct and secure.
3 Check that the connection between the NovoCyte Workstation and the
instrument are correct and secure.
4 Check the NovoFlow sheath fluid container, the NovoRinse solution container,
and the NovoClean solution container to make sure there are enough reagents
inside. Follow the instructions described in Add Instrument Reagents in this
guide to add more reagent to the container as needed.
5 Check the waste container to make sure the container is not full, follow the
instructions described in Empty Waste in this guide to empty the waste
container.
Power on the Instrument
Gently press the power switch on the front panel of the NovoCyte Quanteon flow
cytometer to turn on the instrument. The power switch light should turn green,
indicating that the instrument has entered the initialization process.
