Instrument Operation
58 NovoCyte Quanteon Flow Cytometer Operator's Guide
WARNING
Unplug the power cord immediately under emergent situation (e.g. electric
shock).
NOTE
During the initialization process, the instrument conducts an automatic cleaning
process, warms up the lasers, and prepares the instrument to be Ready for running
samples.
NOTE
User can also schedule automatic instrument power on or off at selected time and
frequency by clicking Schedule Power On & Off from the Operation panel. Please
refer to NovoExpress Software Guide for more details about this function.
Turn on Workstation
1 Turn on the NovoCyte Workstation and monitor.
2 When ready, double-click the NovoExpress software icon on the workstation
desktop to launch NovoExpress software.
3 When prompted, select your username and log in. The software should display
Initializing on the status bar, which indicates that the instrument is properly
connected, and that the instrument is in the initialization process. The
initialization process takes several minutes. After completion, the status bar
will display Ready, indicating that the instrument is ready to use.
NOTE
If the software displays a black icon in the status bar, it means the instrument is
not properly connected to the workstation. Check the USB cable between the
instrument and the workstation and secure the connection. Then restart the
NovoExpress software or workstation.
NOTE
If more than one or multiple NovoExpress software is open on the NovoCyte
Workstation with the instrument connected, only the software opened first will
connect with the instrument when it is on. The other opened software will not
connect with the instrument and the black icon will be displayed in the status
bar. If the instrument is turned on but you observed the black icon in the
NovoExpress status bar, check if there are multiple copies of NovoExpress
software opened at the same time.
