DETECTORS
Smoke Detector
A manual pertaining to the detector is included in the documentation given to you at the
dealership. Please read and follow all care, maintenance, and safety information contained
in this manual. Store the manual in a safe place for future reference. Pass the manual on to
any subsequent users of the detector.
IMPORTANT: It is strongly recommended that you read the supplied manufacturer’s owner
manual when purchasing trailer.
The smoke detector is located on the ceiling of the trailer (photo B-1) and is battery-powered.
WARNING: ALARM BATTERY IS SHIPPED DEACTIVATED. CHECK YOUR ALARM FOR PROPER
BATTERY INSTALLATION. TO ACTIVATE BATTERY, NEW ALTO OWNER MUST INSTALL
INCLUDED BATTERY IN PROPER ORIENTATION.
IMPORTANT: Verify detector regularly using “test” button and change battery when
necessary or according to the recommendations of the manufacturer. Your safety depends
on it.
WARNING: REPLACE BATTERY EACH SPRING.
WARNING: TEST ALL DETECTORS AFTER STORAGE, BEFORE EACH OUTING, AND EVERY
WEEK WHILE TRAILER IS IN USE.
Never spray cleaning products on these devices, as this will damage them.
WARNING: SMOKE ALARMS HAVE A LIMITED LIFE. THE UNIT SHOULD BE REPLACED
IMMEDIATELY IF IT IS NOT OPERATING PROPERLY. YOU SHOULD ALWAYS REPLACE A SMOKE
ALARM AFTER 10 YEARS FROM DATE OF PURCHASE. WRITE THE PURCHASE DATE ON THE
SPACE PROVIDED ON THE BACK OF THE UNIT.

contact your dealer or Safari Condo.
