Carbon Monoxide Alarm
A manual pertaining to the alarm is included in the documentation given to you at the
dealership. Please read and follow all care, maintenance, and safety information contained in this
manual. Store the manual in a safe place for future reference. Pass the manual on to any
subsequent users of the alarm.
IMPORTANT: It is strongly recommended that you read the supplied manufacturer’s owner
manual when purchasing trailer.
The detector is located under the table on the front panel near the fuse box (photo B-2).
Carbon monoxide (CO)
Carbon monoxide (CO) is a highly poisonous gas which is released when fuels are burnt. It is
invisible, has no smell and is therefore very difficult to detect with the human senses. Under
normal conditions, in a room where fuel-burning appliances are well maintained and correctly
ventilated, the amount of carbon monoxide released by appliances is not dangerous. These fuels
include wood, coal, charcoal, oil, natural gas, gasoline, kerosene, and propane.
The carbon monoxide alarm is designed to detect carbon monoxide gas from any source of
combustion.
Common appliances are often a source of CO. If they are not properly maintained, are improperly
ventilated, or malfunction, CO levels can rise quickly. CO is a real danger in “Airtight” trailers with
added insulation, sealed windows, and other weatherproofing which can “trap” CO inside.
