2 Safety Measures
Your Anderson self-loading bale carrier has been designed so as to minimize hazards for operators.
Nevertheless, you should never use it for any purpose other than that for which it was designed.
Using the bale carrier incorrectly may injure the operator.
The self-loading bale carrier has a hydraulic system and moving mechanical parts. All these ele-
ments may cause serious and even deadly injuries to people and livestock. Therefore, it is strongly
recommended that you carefully read all the following advice.
2.1 Operator Qualities and Skills
Familiarize yourself with the operating procedures before manoeuvring your Anderson self-loading
bale carrier. Also, insist that everyone who uses your self-loading bale carrier follow these pro-
cedures. Ensure that all self-loading bale carrier operators:
l Are responsible people;
l Have received the necessary training for safely manoeuvring the bale carrier;
l Are familiar with emergency telephone numbers;
l Are familiar with the location of your first aid kit.
2.2 Use
Only use the self-loading bale carrier to handle square hay bales from 1.2 m to 2.4 m (5 ft to 8 ft) in
length. Avoid all other uses, such as transporting people or livestock.
2.3 Safety Perimeter
Do not become distracted while installing or manoeuvring the self-loading bale carrier. Ensure that
no one other than your is near the self-loading bale carrier when you are manoeuvring it.
You must maintain a 10 meter (30 ft) safety
perimeter around the machine when it is oper-
ating. Keep all people other than the operator,
particularly children and domestic animals,
away from the harvest site. Failure to do so
may cause serious, and even deadly, injuries.
