In all cases the following information is displayed: -
algorithm currently in use (e.g. Eapt-X16)
audio mode (e.g. stereo, mono)
X.21 mode (e.g. Master, Slave) (X.21 mode only)
IP/SIP Mode (e.g. Master, Slave, Unicast, Multicast)
ISDN Mode (e.g. Master, Slave)
Line data rate (e.g. 64kB, 128kB)
IP Address (e.g. 192.168.100.55)
State of ISDN lines (ISDN Mode only)
If X.21 is the default mode of the WorldCast Equinox it will start sending audio data to the X.21 interface and
look for incoming audio data from a remote codec to synchronize with.
5.2. Fast Dial
Fast Dial is initiated by pressing either the FD0 or FD1 key on the front panel. If the primary connection is ISDN
then the WorldCast Equinox will attempt to make an ISDN connection using either ISDN speed dial 0 or 1 (see
section 5.7.1 Setup ISDN Directory). If the primary connection is IP then the WorldCast Equinox will attempt to
make an IP connection using either IP speed dial 0 or 1 (see section 5.6.1 Setup IP Directory). DISC can be
used to disconnect all active connections (except X21). Fast dial is not available at this point for an SIP con-
nection.
5.2.1. ISDN Dialing
This feature allows you to connect to a remote codec quickly over ISDN using only the front panel.
There are two ways to make an ISDN call using manual dialing. From the Idle display press Ent/Dial. The first
B channel will be highlighted and you can enter the digits that will be dialed to connect the first B channel. After
entering the digits press Dial and the WorldCast Equinox will attempt to make a connection. You can use the
and keys to select another B channel and repeat the above until all of the required B channels are active.
However if you do not enter any digits against a B channel pressing Dial will retrieve that last number dialed (if
one is available) and it will be displayed as if you had entered the digits manually. Press Dial again and the
WorldCast Equinox will attempt to make a connection on that B channel.
In this case the unit will use the currently selected audio profile.
Alternatively instead of entering digits (or pressing Dial) for the first B channel you can select an ISDN speed
dial by entering # followed by the number of the profile followed by Dial (e.g. Dial#56Dial). The WorldCast
Equinox can obtain all of the ISDN numbers from the ISDN speed dial. The screen will display progress mes-
sage as it attempts to connect the B channels (e.g. dialing, connecting, connected, failed).
