OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
19 AU103168 C7B
10. After the engine starts, run the engine at half throttle
for approximately 5 minutes, adjusting the choke
control as the engine temperature increases.
11. After the engine has warmed, check that the choke
control is completely pushed in.
12. Run the engine at low idle speed for one or two
minutes before increasing the engine speed and
moving the machine.
13. Cycle all unit components before putting the machine
to work. Check that all controls and components work
properly.
ENGINE SPEED
Do not run the engine at low idle speed for long periods
of time. This can cause a low operating temperature.
Long periods at idle speed can cause acids and deposits
to form in the engine oil.
For maximum engine life and machine performance, it is
recommended that you operate the engine with the choke
pushed fully in and the throttle in the HIGH IDLE (speed)
position when operating conditions permit and when safe.
BOOSTER BATTERY CONNECTIONS
Make sure the person making the connections is wearing
face protection.
1. Disengage the clips that fasten the seat plate to the
machine.

1. Make sure the jumper battery is 12 volts.
2. If using another machine for power, make sure the
two machines DO NOT touch.
3. Connect the positive (+) jumper cable to the positive
(+) battery terminal (1).
4. Connect the negative (-) jumper cable to a good
frame ground away from the batteries.
5. Start the engine.
6. When the engine starts, first disconnect the negative
(-) jumper cable from the frame, and then disconnect
the positive (+) jumper cable last.
WARNING:
Batteries contain acid and
explosive gas. Explosion can result from sparks,
flames or wrong cable connections. To connect
the jumper cables correctly to the battery of this
machine, see the correct method shown on this
page. Failure to follow these instructions can
cause serious injury or death.
WARNING:
Always wear face protection
when making battery connections.
