14. Wait approximately 5 minutes and check the oil
level. If the oil level is below the FULL mark, add oil
to raise the oil to the FULL mark. Do not fill the
crankcase above the FULL mark.
Engine Oil Cooler Maintenance
The TF300B V-Twin engine is equipped with an external
engine oil cooler. The cooler is mounted in front of the
engine blower intake. Filtered oil is routed through the oil
cooler through two hoses from the oil filter adapter.
Fresh air is drawn across the oil cooler fins dissipating
heat from the engine oil.
The oil cooler fins must be checked periodically and
cleaned with compressed air or a soft bristle brush every
100 hours. Remove the air intake housing to perform this
task. The air intake housing must be reinstalled prior to
machine operation.

AIR FILTERING SYSTEM
A dirty air filter will restrict air flow to the carburetor,
reducing engine performance. If you operate the machine
in very dusty areas, clean the air filter more often.
The air filter element should be checked every day or 10
hours of operation, cleaned every season or 25 hours of
operation, and replaced once a year or every 50 hours of
operation.
Check and Clean
1. Park the machine on a level surface and stop the
engine. Remove the key.
2. Move the Steering Brake Levers all the way
REARWARD to lock the brakes.
3. Open the engine hood to access the Air Filter.
4. Remove the cover assembly and knob that holds the
cover plate down.
5. Remove the foam pre-cleaner and wash it in liquid
detergent and water
6. Squeeze the pre-cleaner dry with a clean cloth or
paper towel.
7. Saturate the pre-cleaner in engine oil. Wrap it in a
clean absorbent cloth and squeeze to remove excess
oil.
8. Reinstall the pre-cleaner over the air filter cartridge
9. Replace the knob that holds the cover plate down and
close the cover assembly.
10. Close and secure the engine hood.
Replace Air Filter
To replace the Air Filter element follow the procedure
above but replace the old filter with a new one. Use a
damp cloth and wipe all the excess dirt from around the
cover housing and under the cover.
NOTE:
Be careful not to knock loose dirt or debris down
into the engine while the filter and covers are removed
.
IMPORTANT:
Never operate this engine with the air
cleaner assembly or air cleaner removed.
WARNING:
Never drain oil or remove oil filter
while engine is running.
