PARKING AND STOPPING THE
ENGINE
PIC00120
1. STEPS 2. HAND RAIL
1. When the work day is finished, make sure the
machine is parked on level ground. The machine must
be on level ground before you do scheduled
maintenance.
IMPORTANT:
If you must temporarily park the machine
on a slope or incline, position the machine at right angle
to the slope.
NOTE:
If the machine is to be driven onto a trailer or flat
bed truck that is not a level surface, it is recommended
that the engine oil level be checked prior to driving unit
onto truck of trailer. This will satisfy the oil level check
recommendation prior to starting the unit the next
morning.
2. Put all controls in the NEUTRAL or OFF position. Pull
both Steering Brake levers completely back to lock
the brakes.
3. If the unit has been operating under a heavy load,
decrease the engine speed to 1/4 throttle for a few
minutes to evenly cool the engine.
4. Push the throttle lever towards the SLOW position
and turn the key switch to the OFF position. Remove
the key from the ignition switch.
5. Always use the hand rail and step to get on or off the
machine.
6. Fill fuel tank at the end of each day of operation to
prevent condensation and moisture in the tank.
MACHINE OPERATION
The Seat Interlock System REQUIRES the operator to be
seated in the operator’s seat when starting and operating
this machine.
NOTE:
If the operator DOES NOT remain seated when
the control levers are not in NEUTRAL, the system will
stop the engine in 2 seconds. It is the operator’s
responsibility to operate this machine in a safe manner.
DO NOT lay a weighted object on the seat, bypass or
tamper with the Seat Interlock System in any way.

WARNING:
The operator presence/seat
interlock system provides protection from injury.
Do not disable the system.
WARNING:
Before each period of operation,
check the machine for correct operation of the
steering, brakes, hydraulic controls, instruments,
and safety equipment. Check the NEUTRAL
position of the transmission control Lever. A
machine that runs correctly can prevent accidents.
Make all necessary repairs or adjustments before
you operate the machine.
WARNING:
Avoid exposure to dust
containing crystalline silica particles. This
dust can cause serious injury to the lungs
(silicosis).
WARNING:
DO NOT operate the machine while
under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
WARNING:
Operate controls only when in the
operator’s seat.
WARNING:
CLEAR THE WORK AREA OF ALL
BY-STANDERS. During digging maintain a
minimum safety zone of 50 ft. (15 M) around the
machine.
WARNING:
Hillside operation can be
dangerous. Rain snow, ice, loose gravel, soft
ground, etc., change the ground conditions. You
must make a judgement if your machine can be
safely operated on any hillside or slope greater
than 20°.
