Cleaning the Element
Check the dirty element for damage. Replace the element
as necessary.
1. Wear face protection. Remove the loose dirt with
compressed air at 207 kPa, 2 bar (30 psi) maximum.
Hold the nozzle at least 25 mm (one inch) from the
element.
2. Mix 2 tablespoons of D1400 Detergent, available from
your dealer, with 7.5 litres (2 gallons) of water.
3. Soak the element in the detergent solution for 15
minutes and then move the element up and down
rapidly to loosen as much dirt as possible.
4. Use a water hose without a nozzle and pressure less
than 275 kPa, 2.8 bar (40 psi) to remove all detergent
from the element.
5. Allow the element to air dry. If you use a drier, do not
exceed 71°C (160°F) and make sure the air is
circulating in the drier.
6. Use a light and inspect the element for holes or splits
in the pleats. Check for damage to the metal parts
and rubber gaskets. Replace the element as
necessary.
NOTE:
If the element is not to be used for some time,
cover the element with paper for storage
.
FUEL SYSTEM
Lead-Free Gasoline Fuel
Use lead-free gasoline with a minimum average octane
rating of 85 or higher.
NOTE:
Do not use gasoline that contains more than 10%
ethanol. If you use gasoline that contains methanol, the
gasoline must contain cosolvents and corrosion inhibitors.
Never use gasoline containing more than 5% methanol.
Fuel Storage
If you keep fuel in storage for a period of time, you can
get foreign material or water in the fuel storage tank.
Many engine problems are caused by water in the fuel.
Fuel Tank Filler Cap
Fill the tank at the end of each day. A full tank will prevent
water condensation.

1. FUEL FILLER CAP
Always stop the engine and let cool before adding fuel.
When adding fuel to the machine, remove the fuel cap
SLOWLY to reduce any air pressure build up.
In-Line Fuel Filter
The fuel filter should be checked every 6 months or every
500 hours of operation. Replace the fuel filter every 250
hours of operation or every year.
1. Park the machine on a level surface and stop the
engine.
2. Move the Steering Brake Levers all the way
REARWARD to lock the brakes.
3. Open the engine access hood.
4. Clean the area around the filter.
WARNING:
Always wear face protection when
using compressed air.
WARNING:
Engine fuel is flammable and can
cause a fire or an explosion. Do not fill the fuel
tank or service the fuel system near an open
flame,welding, burning cigars, cigarettes, etc.
WARNING:
Never refuel the machine
when the engine is hot or running. Never
smoke while refueling.
WARNING:
Fluid under pressure can
pierce skin and cause injury or death. Stay
away.
