4. Use a strap wrench to remove the old hydraulic filter
(1). Turn the filter counterclockwise to remove.
Discard the filter in a proper manner. Consult local oil
product disposition regulations. It may be necessary
to loosen the front battery bolt to remove filter.
5. Lubricate the gasket on the new filter with clean
engine oil. Turn the new filter onto the filter head
until the gasket makes contact with the filter head.
Continue to tighten the filter by hand 1/2 to 3/4 of a
turn. If front battery tie-down bolt was loosened,
tighten after filter replacement.
IMPORTANT:
Do not use a filter wrench to tighten the
filter. A wrench can damage the housing of the filter.

6. Check the oil level in the hydraulic reservoir. Add oil if
necessary.
7. Start and run the engine at idle speed for two
minutes. Check for leaks around the filter.
8. Stop the engine, remove the key and check the oil
level in the hydraulic oil reservoir. Add oil as
necessary.
9. Install dipstick after checking hydraulic oil level and
close hood.
10. Install seat and seat plate.
Hydraulic Reservoir Breather

RESERVOIR BREATHER
1. Open the hood. Remove and clean the breather each
time the hydraulic oil is changed.
2. Install the breather after cleaning.
Hydraulic Oil Change and Hydraulic
Reservoir Suction Screen Cleaning

1. Make sure the hydraulic oil is at operating
temperature.
2. Park the machine on a level surface and stop the
engine. Remove the key.
3. Move the Steering Brake Levers all the way
REARWARD to lock the brakes.
4. Put a drain pan below the hydraulic reservoir drain
plug. The hydraulic reservoir holds approximately
26.5 litres (7 U.S. Gallons) of oil.
5. Remove the drain plug (1) and drain the oil from the
hydraulic reservoir.
6. Loosen the clamp (2) that fastens the hose to the
suction screen (3). Disconnect the hose from the
suction screen.
7. Loosen and remove the suction screen from the
hydraulic reservoir.
8. Clean the suction screen in cleaning solvent.
9. Apply sealant to the threads on the suction screen.
10. Install the suction screen, connect the hose and
tighten the hose clamp. Apply sealant to the threads
on the drain plug.
11. Install the drain plug.
12. Fill the hydraulic reservoir with oil, see Hydraulic
System Service Specifications in this manual for
reservoir capacity.
13. Start and run the engine at idle for 2 minutes.
14. Stop the engine and check for leaks, check the oil
level in the hydraulic reservoir. Add oil as necessary.
