5.2 Adjustments and service
procedures
5.2.1 Battery care
The battery set is largely maintenance-free when used
correctly. Nevertheless, small maintenance as well as
regular checks are useful in order to reliably operate
your battery set in the long term.
5.2.1.1 Checking battery status
It is possible to check the live data about the battery
status, voltage and temperature via Bluetooth using
VictronConnect app. You will also see the voltage of
each cell - which is an essential guide to battery
health.
This app is available in Play Store for Android
devices and App Store for iOS.
How to connect:
1. Enable the Bluetooth on your phone, tablet or
laptop (device).
2. Open VictronConnect, and scan. You can either
pull down the screen or tap the refresh button to
initiate a scan.
3. You can identify which battery you are
connecting to by checking the code written in the
battery label.
4. The first time you attempt to connect the phone
will ask to pair with the device. Enter the pin code.
The default pin code is 000000.
5. Connection is complete.
In case you forgot the PIN number:
On the device list, tap or click the three-dots menu on
the right side of the product description. A menu will
pop up offering a 'Reset PIN code' option. Click that,
and enter the PUK code. The PUK code can be found
on the battery label.
The Li-ion battery must be trans-
ported in its original or equivalent
package and in an upright position.
If the battery is in its package, use
soft slings to avoid damage. Do not
stand below a Li-ion battery when it
is hoisted. Never lift the battery at
the terminals, only lift the battery at
the handles.
Li-ion batteries are heavy. If
involved in an accident they can
become a projectile! Ensure ade-
quate and secure mounting and
always use suitable handling equip-
ment for transportation. Handle
with care because Li-ion batteries
are sensitive to mechanical shock.
Explosion and fire hazard. Termi-
nals of the Li-ion battery are always
a live; therefore do not place items or
tools on the Li-ion battery. Avoid
short circuits, too deep discharges
and too high charge currents. Use
insulated tools. Do not wear any
metallic items such as watches,
bracelets, et cetera. In case of fire,
you must use a type D, foam or CO2
fire extinguisher.
While working on the Li-ion battery
wear protective eyeglasses and cloth-
ing.
Don't change default configuration of
the batteries. Any change in battery
configuration without authorization
will render the manufacturer's war-
ranty void.
