“Mode” block
It shows a mode current at any given time, with options as provided by the unit’s configuration. The current mode
parameter may not correspond to the parameter set manually or in the weekly program. If that is the case, the power level required
is generated by a closed input D1– D4 or one of the inputs IN1– INk4/2.
List of modes
The unit is in OFF mode. It is started by a periodic ventilation timer,
when a change in input status occurs (Dn, INk) or in response to a
demand due to heating / cooling needs, i.e. a change in room
temperature. It also switches between recirculation and ventilation
modes or their combinations as necessary.
- as the base mode throughout the year
- particularly when the house is not
occupied
The unit only ventilates at the set power level or higher, depending
on the setting of an external input active at the time set.
- while cooking (automatically switched
on from the kitchen)
- in spring and autumn when outside
temperature exceeds 12 °C
- be aware that it can’t be used for
heating during the heating season
- suitable in winter for evening ventilation
The unit is in recirculation mode; that is, it is recirculating air inside
the premises. If necessary, it is heating or cooling this air. Only
indoor air recirculation is taking place, without ventilation. If
necessary, air is heated or cooled. Cooling is available only provided
that cooling equipment is installed (mechanical cooling,
a recirculating ground-coupled heat exchanger, a cold water coil…).
Depending on the settings so-called periodic ventilation may take
place; this means that the unit switches over to ventilation and
recirculation mode, providing fresh air for minimum necessary room
ventilation.
- when outside temperature is below -5°C
and premises are occupied, combine
with recirculation ventilation (RV) in the
ration of 2 RV : 1 R
- for heat distribution within the premises
at the MAX power level when a
fireplace is used for heating or indoor
temperature increases due to sunlight
-
a standard mode when air quality
sensors are used – CO

with
ventilation
Depending on the set ventilation-to-recirculation power level ratio
(see 5.18), air is partly recirculated and partly supplied from the
outside. Indoor air recirculation takes place simultaneously with
ventilation. If required, the air can be heated or cooled.
- possibly as a permanent mode in spring
and autumn when outside temperature
is higher than 8°C
- a base mode in the heating season with
outside temperature up to -5°C and
people being present
- for heat distribution within the premises
at the MAX power level when
a fireplace is used for heating
pressure
ventilation
The unit is only supplying the maximum volume of air into the
premises. The exhaust motor is idle. To compensate for positive
pressure, windows and doors leading to the outside must be opened.
- in the summer for pre-cooling at night
- allowed only in the non-heating season
