6.3 Cleaning the plastic heat recovery exchanger
The recommended heat exchanger cleaning interval depends on the nature of the ambient environment of the site of operation,
approximately 1-2 years. When required, wash the heat exchanger block several times using warm water with a detergent; water
temperature should up to 40°C, ideally the level of temperature should be such that you can keep our hands in without trouble.
Possible detergents for cleaning the heat recovery exchanger:
1% SAVO solution
Terralin
®
protect applied as instructed by the producer
Desprej
®
sensitive
After applying a detergent or disinfectant always wash the exchanger with clean water several times.
Do not expose the exchanger to ultraviolet light or sunlight; if necessary, store it in a dark place.
ATTENTION: Never clean the exchanger using substances that might contain organic solvents; this might lead to
irreversible damage to the exchanger!
Sliding out the heat recovery exchanger from RB5 units
Open the unit and unlatch the heat recovery exchanger on each side. Note the position of the heat recovery exchanger (s) (the
number depends on the unit type) for fitting the seal properly.
Open the door and loosen the clamping
nuts on the sides of the exchanger.
Slide the heat recovery exchanger
block out of the unit.
Insert it back in according to the proper
position marking, cover and secure in
place.
To insert the heat recovery exchanger back in repeat the steps in reverse order. Before doing that, we recommend applying silicon
oil to the seal to insert the exchanger back more easily and improve the flexibility and extend the life span of the seal.

6.4 Cleaning controllers
The controller of the unit is maintained like a light switch cleaning is possible only using a dry or slightly wet cloth so that no water
penetrates inside the controller. It must not be cleaned using liquids which might damage its surface (e.g. organic solvents).
6.5 Cleaning other parts of the unit minor maintenance
When replacing filter mats or cassettes and every time you open the unit check the following:
