● The main air filter in the unit is a recirculated air filter, located upstream of the unit’s heat exchangers. The standard type is G4-
type fabric filter mats inserted in a frame (G4 as the basic class of filtration, optionally F7 for fine filtration). The basic G4
filtration class can be enhanced with carbon filter fabric to supress odours.
● This fabric filter with frame can be replaced by a cassette filter. For the filter replacement procedure see below.
● Replace the filters yourself only provided that you do not suffer from allergies to dust particles. Avoid replacing filters when
persons with such problems are present.
Before replacing filters we recommend having a tight bag ready (e.g. a paper carrier bag) to carry the filter to an area suitable
for replacement and storing the contaminated fabric for disposal, e.g. with municipal waste.
● Before opening the ceiling-suspended unit, it is necessary to disconnect the condensate drain line. In cold weather we
recommend having a tea towel and pan ready to collect the residual condensate from the unit’s door.
● When fitting filters make sure the air flow direction arrow is visible from the operator’s side and points to the integrated
exchangers (recirculated air filter) / heat recovery exchanger (pre-filters).
● Dispose of contaminated cassettes with standard municipal waste.
Filters are replaced depending on the ambient dust load levels at an interval between 500 and 2000 operating hours (usually 2 to 3
months). The recommended inspection interval is indicated on the controller display or PC.
ATTENTION: Use only original filter mats or cassettes! If alternative components are used, the producer does not
guarantee their proper function!
Replacement and cleaning of the ODA pre-filter – expanded metal
The procedure is identical for all DUPLEX R5 series units.
Loosen the filter holding strip.
Remove the filter including frame.
After replacing, cleaning and drying the expanded
metal, insert the filter back in its original place and
secure the frame.

The procedure is identical for all DUPLEX R5 series units.
Unlock the filter frame / cassette from
the guide rails by pressing downwards.

Insert the filter back into the unit by pressing on
the bottom edge and then fitting in the top (with
the grille facing the heat recovery exchange).
