5. An Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Properties window will open as shown below.
a. On the General tab, make sure that the Obtain an IP address automatically radio button
is selected. (This sets the adapter to check for a DHCP server as its first choice.)
6. Click on the Alternate Configuration tab. The settings on this tab are used to set the Auto IP
(LLA) address assignment as the alternate configuration that the adapter will use if no DHCP
server is found.
a. Select the Automatic private IP address radio button as shown below.
7. Click the OK button to close the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Properties window.
8. Click the OK button to close the ... Properties window.
