Chapter 7 Techniques in Programming
Friction Passes from Exit to Entrance (Odd Pass Numbers)
This pass is used to clean the front of the vehicle, the top surfaces, side flats and lower side in cab area.
Top Wheel on Top Surface of Vehicle
The speed that the top wheel moves up/down when not washing is set from Top Wheel Setup screen. The wheel
RPM is also set from this screen. The top wheel torque is edited from same screen, typically torque related settings
do not vary much from those shown in Top Wheel Setup screen. Top cleaning is affected by carriage speed,
FRONT, MIDDLE & BACK. Care should be taken when adjusting carriage speed during top wheel pass. If speed
is too fast, top wheel might miss cleaning some areas. Also, carriage motion can become erratic.
Side Wheels on front of Vehicle
Side wheel shuttle speeds can be adjusted via MISC screen. RAPID SIDE SPEED is speed that shuttles will travel
when moving to position without washing. WASH SIDE SPEED is speed that shuttle will travel as wheels are
washing the front of vehicles.
Side Wheels on sides of Vehicle
The wheel RPM and torque settings are set from the Side wheel setup screen. Typically, these settings don’t vary
much from those shown on Side wheel setup screen of this manual. This friction pass will concentrate on lower
sides when aside the cab area. Side cleaning is affected by carriage speed, FRONT, MIDDLE & BACK of package
setup screens. Care should be taken when adjusting carriage speed during side wheel pass.
Friction Passes from Entrance to Exit (Even Pass Numbers)
This pass is used to clean the back of the vehicle, side flats and side upper in cab area.
Top Wheel on Top Surface of Vehicle
Top wheel is not utilized on even number passes.
Side Wheels on back of Vehicle
Side wheel shuttle speeds can be adjusted via MISC screen. RAPID SIDE SPEED is speed that shuttles will travel
when moving to position without washing. WASH SIDE SPEED is speed that shuttle will travel as wheels are
washing the back of vehicles. SUV BACK WINDOW SPEED is the speed that shuttle will travel as D/S wheel cleans
SUV back upper glass.
Side Wheels on Sides of Vehicle
The wheel RPM and torque settings are set from the Side wheel setup screen. Typically, these settings don’t vary
much from those shown on Side wheel setup screen of this manual. This friction pass will concentrate on upper
sides when aside the cab area. Side cleaning is affected by carriage speed, FRONT, MIDDLE & BACK of package
setup screens. Care should be taken when adjusting carriage speed during side wheel pass. Front speed for these
passes is carriage speed forward of mirrors when wheels not in contact with vehicle.
