COUNTER Unit [E43] decides if Line out and other lengths shall be displayed in Fathoms, Feet or
Meters.
COUNTER Direction [E43 P] decides the direction for both the motor and COUNTER . Unlike
previous models, the engine in Ex can work in any direction depending on the way in which the line is
to be taken. The direction can either be set to "Normal" or "Reverse". NOTE! Choices must be made
before putting the line on the wheel. Changing this later makes the motor wind of the line!
Look at the image below to and determine the way sinker shall wind off the line BEFORE Line is put
on wheel.

Wheel count sensor [E43 PP] is a test
screen when troubleshooting to see if
both wheel sensor A and B works.
To test the sensors and also wheel
magnets, set DRAG to zero and slowly
turn the wheel slowly by hand. Affected
sensors will show ”0” when the magnet
close to it. Otherwise the sensor must
show “1”.

For a complete counting pulse, a magnet must pass the sensors so that it first affects one sensor. Let's
say the first is A. Then both sensors A and B must be affected simultaneously. When wheel continues,
only the second sensor B should be affected. Finally when sensor B no longer is affected, the count
pulse is approved. If the wheel is rotated in the opposite direction, the same pattern applies, but with A
and B in the example above, reversed.
Magnets / Wheels [E43 PPP] have varied over the years and must be set correctly so that Line Out
can be calculated correctly. Adjustable between 1 to 6 pcs. Most common used is 3. If you want better
precision, up to 6 magnets can be mounted. With 3 magnets, theoretical precision on Line out is
between 0.13 - 0.23 meters depending on outer diameter of Line Outer diameter [E42 P] and with 6
the precision is the half.0.07 - 0.12. However many other things affect the precision of released line,
like how it is wounded up on wheel and the line tension.
