3.2 The difference between LSN address and detection point
LSN address
Each LSN element is assigned its own unique LSN address for identification and monitoring.
The address cards enable a corresponding number of detection points.
An FPA-5000 administers up to 4096 addresses — and therefore 4096 detection points — as a
standalone control panel.
Detection point:
All elements that do not use the "input" type in the "message type" setting are regarded as
detection points.
Consequently, all elements that use the following types in the "message type" setting count as
detection points:
–FIRE
–FIRE INTERNAL
– SUPERVISORY
–SMOKE
–TROUBLE
–HEAT
–WATER
Each element or input that can trigger an alarm following programming requires a detection
point.
This includes all manual and automatic detectors as well as the following modules and
interfaces on the basis of the existing inputs.
The ENO 0000 B Fire Service Interface Module only requires a detection point when an FSE
release switch element is connected and has been programmed with the FSP-5000-RPS
control panel software.
No detection points need to be provided for the following couplers: FLM-420-NAC,
FLM-420-RHV, FLM-420-RLV1, FLM-420-RLV8, FLM-420-O2.
Inputs only count as detection points when they are configured with the FSP-5000-RPS panel
software as "supervisory" or "trouble".
Detector groups, notification appliances and all outputs do not occupy detection points!

CZM 0004 A up to 4 detection points
IOP 0008 A: up to 8 detection points
