Check the oil level of the planetary gearbox K model.
f Observe the information on the planetary gearbox dimensioned drawing in
appendix D “Technical data / Drawings” of the material number-specic
operating instructions!
• Bore 10: for lling or checking the lubricating oil
• Bore 9 for draining the lubricating oil
1. Allow the planetary gearbox cool down to approx. 50°C after standstill.
2. Turn the planetary gearbox as shown in the gure on the left:
Bore 9 in 6 o'clock position.
3. Place a catch basin with sufcient capacity under the planetary gearbox.
4. Loosen the screw plugs of the bore 10 slowly, so that any existing pressure can
be released.
5. Then remove the screw plug from bore 10. The oil level is correct if some
lubricating oil escapes from the bore 10.
6. If the oil level is too low, ll in lubricating oil. Proceed as described in chapter
8.1.3 “Filling the planetary gearbox with lubricating oil”.
7. Check whether the seal on the screw plug thread of the bore 10 is still in perfect
condition and can be reused. Replace a damaged seal.
8. Seal bore 10 with the corresponding screw plug.
10.2.3 Acoustic inspections
f Perform daily noise tests. A grinding or whistling noise that possibly occurs at
high speeds indicates a malfunction. Inform the competent superior or operator
without delay of any changes during planetary gearbox operation such as unusual
running noise.
10.2.4 Checking and tightening screw connections
f Check, as specied in the maintenance schedule, that all screw connections
are tightly secured. Especially check:
– the gearbox mounting screws
– the screw plugs of bores 5,6,9 and 10
– the motor xing screws
f Tighten the screws of the planetary gearbox at the torque specied for
the corresponding screws in the planetary gearbox spare parts drawing in
appendix D “Technical data / Drawings” of the material number-specic
operating instructions. Also observe the frame drawing of the machine/vehicle
manufacturer.
