12 Device description
12.1 Components
The PC-based system solution IndraControl VPB 40.4 combines the robustness
and openness of the IndraControl VPB industrial Pcs and the control
functionality IndraMotion MLC. The project planning and programming of the
integrated control are carried out as for the common controller-based control
solutions based on the IndraControl CML or IndraControl XM using the Bosch
Rexroth Engineering Suite IndraWorks.
The architecture has the following characteristics:
● High performance due to comprehensive functions and interfaces
● Can be scaled using the innovative control platform IndraControl VP
● Extreme robust, industrial-suitable device design
● Integrated HMI solutions WinStudio and IndraWorks Operation
12.1.1 Hardware
The control system IndraControl VPB 40.4 is based on the following hardware
components:
● Rexroth IndraControl VPB industrial PC
● Rexroth plug-in cards (extension cards):
– Rexroth IndraControl PFC01.1-FB-01
Extension card for the Sercos III master communication
– Rexroth IndraControl PFC01.1-FB-13
Extension card for RT-Ethernet (Profinet/Ethernet IP) and Profibus DP
– Rexroth IndraControl PFC01.1-SY-01
Safety extension card (observe the note in chapter 4 "Intended use" on
page 5 when using a Safety extension card)
● Rexroth IndraControl VAU 01.1U USV with USB interface
12.1.2 Software
The following software components are used for the control system
IndraControl VPB 40.4:
