The communication is established via a virtual COM interface. This virtual COM
interface is provided by the USB interface.
The driver is installed after the first connection of the UPS via the
USB cable. A virtual COMn (e.g. COM3) interface is created in the
operating system.
The USB connection may not be interrupted more than 30 seconds
at runtime. Otherwise, it cannot be ensured anymore that the
respective driver detects a current failure message by the UPS. In
this case, remanent control data cannot be backed up anymore if the
24 V supply voltage fails. If the USB connection was interrupted
more than 30 seconds, restart the system very soon.
UPS without USB interface
The variant
"USV without USB interface" is currently not supported
in the system solution IndraMotion MLC VPB 40.4!
10.3.3 Recommendation for the mounting of CDI cables with long
lengths in an interference-prone environment
The CDI cable is a connection cable with RJ45 plug to connect the CDI interface
of the control cabinet PC to the remote operator display or the Y-repeater.
The mounting recommendations described in the following facilitate an
optimized signal transmission. In particular in case of great cable lengths and
distances between the control cabinet PC and the remote operator display,
