12.6 Network File System (NFS)
The internal mass memory (HDD, SSD) is exclusively assigned to the Windows
operating system. There is no exclusive mass memory for the control. Thus, the
file system of the control is mapped to the internal mass memory. It is mapped
via a network file system. The control cannot operate anymore if Windows is not
running anymore. Thus, the control responds with a SYSERROR.
File access is not transferred as in case of FTP for example. For the control
system, the file system acts like an exclusively available memory medium.
12.7 Initial firmware
Upon delivery, the control was provided without system firmware.
System-neutral initial firmware is installed on the control by default.
The initial firmware provides commissioning and maintenance functions of the
control functionality of the IndraMotion MLC based on the hardware
IndraControl VPB. The commissioning tool "IndraControl First Touch" is provided
as comfortable user interface (see chapter 12.8.3 "Firmware management" on
page 51).
The initial firmware provides the following functions:
● Reading out the electronic type plate
● Network setting of the network connection XETH2
● Reset to delivery state
● Create and restore control image
● File manager for the control partitions SYSTEM, OEM and USER
