SLOW-FAST Control Parameters
SMART MATRIX QUILT 3 - 10
SLOW-FAST Control Parameters
One of the main features of the SMART MATRIX system is the possibility of programming 2 different sets of
control parameters (SLOW and FAST) and automatically switching from one set to the other depending on
the status of two external input signals, provided by the quilting machine (SLOW EXT and FAST EXT). This
feature offers several application advantages, such as:
# Possibility of operating always with optimized parameters, even if the machine features two different
operating speeds for the processing of the same article, providing that the machine itself is capable of
providing two independent synchronization signals (SLOW EXT and FAST EXT).
# Possibility of using two different sets of parameters: one for the ramp stage at low speed, the other for the
normal rate condition, by simply setting two different values of Delay Control in SLOW and FAST
(example: 2 PRXpulses and 5 PRX pulses) and connecting both inputs (SLOW EXT and FAST EXT) to
the machine startup signal.
Parameters used depending on the status of FAST EXT and SLOW EXT signals
SLOW EXT FAST EXT Set of parameters active
Non active Non active No control (machine stationary)
Active Non active SLOW parameters
Active Active FAST parameters
Non active Active FAST parameters
Note: The status (either active or non active) of FAST EXT and SLOW EXT signal is indicated by the
FAST EXT and SLOW EXT red leds on SM-DIN Boards.
Led off =non active signal
Led on = active signal
