Urinary Catheterization
Apollo allows urinary catheterization and simulation of urinary output. Ensure all fluids have been

using a standard urinary catheter lubricated with silicone spray. The bladder for the simulated urine
is accessed directly via the urethra.
To simulate continuous urinary output:
1. Set up the IV pole near the simulator.
2. Fill an IV bag with the clinically appropriate fluid. Use distilled water only,
with food coloring if desired.
3. Hang the IV bag on the IV pole.
4. Ensure the roller clamp is closed and insert the IV spike into the IV bag.
