Respiratory System
The Juno manikin includes respiratory features that allow learners to practice basic assessment and
life support skill sets. With the manikin, learners can:
• Manage difficult airways
Maintain tracheostomy site
Nasal Packing
Juno supports nasal packing. Nasal packing can be performed on both nares, utilizing ribbon, gauze,
nasal packs, or tampons.
To apply nasal packing:
1. Cut a length of ribbon gauze or use commercially available nasal pack or nasal tampon.
2. Insert the nasal packing into the nasal cavity using forceps.
3. When the simulation session is complete, remove the nasal packing material.
Temperature:
Blood
Changes in arterial temperature may
alter the position of the standard
oxyhemoglobin dissociation curve
(shift). As temperature increases or
pH decreases, more oxygen is
released from hemoglobin and thus
the patient’s saturation decreases
(Modeled only).
Tap Neuro and
tap Temperature:
Blood to adjust.
None required.
