Using Juno
6. Obtain an appropriate length measurement for NG Tube placement. Measure from the
earlobe to the nose, then to the sternum.
7. Insert the tube and secure.
Insert and Secure NG Tube
You are now able to:
Aspirate fluids using the catheter tip syringe
Instill fluids
Connect to suction and empty the stomach
To empty the gastric reservoir:
1. Attach an empty 140 ml syringe to the gastric reservoir fill/drain line on the manikin’s right
side.
2. Aspirate fluid until the reservoir is empty.
Note: To ensure the reservoir is completely empty, place the manikin in an upright 90° sitting
position and aspirate any additional fluid.
Ostomy Site Care and Irrigation
There are three stoma sites on the manikin’s abdominal plate for stoma placement care and
irrigation:
Colostomy (Large intestine)
Ileostomy (Small intestine)
Cystostomy (Bladder)
