Pad recommendation and alterations
Calix recommends a reinforced 5 1/2-inch thick concrete pad. Your pad may vary
depending on site and environmental conditions.
Recommended minimum cable requirements
For ground cable, use AWG #2 cable (AWG #6 minimum). Leave approximately
4 feet of cable above the top of the pad.
For ground cable, use the appropriate 2-hole compression lug for vertical
grounding to the main ground bar (hole spacing options are 5/8", 1", or 1 1/4";
bolt size is 1/4").
For AC power cables, use AWG #6, minimum. Leave approximately 6 feet of cable
above the top of the pad. Follow National Electric Code (NEC) and local codes
when installing AC power at your site.
For subscriber cables, leave approximately 8-10 feet of cable above the top of the
pad.
For subscriber cables, have the appropriate termination equipment and tools
available.
For fiber cabling, if you are using fiber, use single-mode fiber only.
For fiber cabling, use a fiber splice value of no greater than.5 dB loss.
Note
