Product Overview and Access
Introduction to the ODC-10 cabinet
Information on the ODC-10 cabinet description, features, options, access, and size
follows.
General description of the ODC-10 cabinet
The ODC-10 cabinet is an environmentally controlled, aluminum and steel enclosure
designed to deploy the Calix C7 in outdoor terminal locations. The cabinet can be
configured for purely copper, fiber, or a combination of both with flexibility for field
migration from copper to fiber.
The Calix ODC-10 cabinet consists of a main cabinet sitting on a battery compartment
base. The main cabinet houses three compartments, an equipment compartment, splice
compartment, and a copper protection and fiber compartment.
The Calix C7 ODC-10 cabinet is wired for delivery of copper or fiber-based services
supporting up to 240 subscribers. The patent-pending integrated cooling system combines
low power DC cooling blowers with advanced air-to-air tubular heat exchangers to
dissipate large amounts of heat in very small spaces.
Door description of the outdoor cabinet
The cabinet has three doors - front, rear, and side - as well as battery compartment access
panels in the front and rear. Accessories such as a document pocket, a fold-down laptop
tray, or a cup holder are located on some of the doors.
All main compartment doors have 2-point position tamper-proof Telco hex-pin locks,
each with provision for a padlock, if required by local site practice. Each battery
compartment panel has two tamper-proof hex-pin locks, each with provision for a
padlock.
